Siena University is a private Franciscan and Catholic liberal arts university in Loudonville, New York, about 10 minutes from the state capital, Albany. It has about 3,000 students, a 12:1 student-faculty ratio and a 21-sport NCAA Division I athletics programme.
Siena offers 43 majors, more than 80 minors and certificates, and joint-degree programmes in liberal arts, science and business, such as the Albany Medical College Program. Main areas include:
- Business, including an AACSB-accredited accounting degree, finance, marketing and business analytics
- Sciences: biology, biochemistry, chemistry, physics, computer science, data science
- Health studies and nursing
- Social sciences and humanities: psychology, political science, communications, history

Siena uses holistic review and typically looks for a rigorous four-year high school programme with an average of 85+ (B). Applying is free, via the Common App or the Siena Express Application. International applicants submit:
- The application and official transcripts, with certified English translation or evaluation if needed
- An essay and a recommendation
- Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo or an approved equivalent) if their native language or language of instruction is not English
SAT/ACT scores are optional for most applicants. Admitted students reserve their place with a US$500 enrolment deposit.
Under the Siena Guarantee, international students who are admitted and submit the financial aid form are eligible for at least US$57,000 in scholarships towards their education (at least US$14,250 a year, including merit scholarships, for each full-time undergraduate year). Siena also guarantees graduation in four years, and students who submit the financial aid form are reviewed for additional need-based aid. International students can pay their bills in their home currency through Flywire.
