Thames British School is a private British international school in Majadahonda, north-west of Madrid, founded in 2015 and part of Perrott Hill Education, a group with schools in the UK, Spain, Lithuania and the Czech Republic. It takes children from age 1 to 18. Classes are taught entirely in English and follow the National Curriculum for England; teachers are native or fluent English speakers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Most year groups have a single class, and up to Year 4 each class has both a teacher and a teaching assistant.
- Early Years (Pre-Pre Nursery from age 1 to Reception)
- Key Stages 1 and 2 (Years 1-6)
- Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9)
- IGCSE (Years 10-11)
- Cambridge International AS and A levels (Years 12-13)
For pupils arriving from abroad without Spanish, a Spanish Induction Programme offers small-group lessons before they move into the regular Spanish curriculum. Tuition covers teaching, books, materials and most sports activities. Applications are accepted throughout the year; depending on age, the process includes an interview, a review of school reports and assessments, followed by a formal offer of a place.
