The University of Guam (UOG) is a land-grant university in Mangilao, on the Pacific island of Guam. It dates back to June 1952, when the island government founded the Territorial College of Guam as a two-year teacher-training school; it became the University of Guam in 1968 and is a nonprofit corporation governed by a Board of Regents. UOG was first accredited as a senior college by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in the 1960s and received eight years of accreditation in 2016.

The university states that it offers 25 undergraduate and 15 graduate programmes, taught in six colleges and schools:

  • School of Engineering
  • School of Nursing & Health Sciences

Programmes range from bachelor's degrees and pre-professional tracks to master's degrees and an online Doctor of Education. The academic year has a fall semester (Fanuchånan, August to December) and a spring semester (Fañomnåkan, January to May). International students can contact the Global Learning & Engagement Office. The campus residence halls offer single and double rooms, with residents from across Micronesia, Asia, Europe and the US mainland.

Fees

Tuition for the 2026-27 academic year, per credit (US$):

  • Guam residents: US$221 undergraduate, US$299 graduate
  • Non-residents: US$442 undergraduate, US$598 graduate

Full-time study is 12 credits per semester for undergraduates and 9 for graduate students. Student fees, programme fees and course fees are charged in addition. Residency status is decided by the registrar, and the university notes that rates are subject to change.

Housing

UOG has on-campus residence halls with single and double rooms, close to classes, the library, the computer centre and the Field House. The university describes them as modest rather than luxury accommodation. Residents come mainly from across Micronesia, and also from East Asia, the Philippines, Europe and the US mainland.
