The Hebrew University of Jerusalem is a university in Israel that offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. It has three campuses in Jerusalem and one in Rehovot, as well as a veterinary hospital in Beit Dagan and the Interuniversity Institute for Marine Sciences in Eilat. The university lists Nobel Prizes, a Fields Medal in Mathematics and two Turing Awards among its distinctions, and states that more than 3,000 inventions have been registered and more than 180 start-ups founded on the basis of its research. It is ranked among the top 100 universities in the world in the Shanghai Ranking.

Amirim, based on the Mount Scopus campus, is studied alongside a second major; its students receive a full tuition scholarship for three years and are encouraged to go on a student exchange in their third year. Applicants whose secondary school did not teach in Hebrew need a Hebrew proficiency score of 105.
