The Montessori School of Mallorca is a private school in Santa Maria del Camí, Mallorca, for children aged 3 to 16. It blends Montessori education with the British National Curriculum, and English is the main language of learning. The school is authorised by the Government of the Balearic Islands, and its Primary stage is accredited by the British Council. The campus is built around a 400-year-old windmill, with gardens, a vegetable garden and views of the Tramuntana mountains, a few metres from the train station.
- Casa, ages 3-5: fully Montessori
- Primary, ages 5-11: Montessori combined with the British curriculum, mixed-age groups and no homework
- Secondary, ages 11-16: British programme leading to the IGCSE together with the Spanish ESO
Classes are small: the school gives teacher-child ratios of 1:10 or lower in Casa and 1:15 or lower in Primary and Secondary, where students are taught by subject specialists, many with UK teaching qualifications (QTS). Secondary students receive personal support through the W.I.S.E. Centre and can take part in Model United Nations. The school day runs from 9:00 to 16:00 (15:30 on Fridays).
To apply, families check availability, visit on an Open Day or individually, and are then invited to an interview and, where appropriate, a tester day.
