The Universidad Católica de El Salvador (UNICAES) is a private Catholic university in Santa Ana, El Salvador, founded on 13 April 1982 as the Universidad Católica de Occidente; it took its current name in 2008. It is linked to the Catholic Diocese of Santa Ana and is a member of the association of private universities of El Salvador. The main campus in Santa Ana, in use since 1997, houses the rectorate, and a multidisciplinary faculty operates in Ilobasco, Cabañas.

  • Faculty of Sciences and Humanities, with schools of communication and law
  • Postgraduate school with master's and doctoral programmes in education, business management, environmental management and engineering, and IT security

Postgraduate programmes are blended, with about 75% of the content online and 25% in person. The university has exchanged students and staff with universities in Spain, Costa Rica and Italy, among others, and has a languages department, the Miguel de Cervantes Library and an office for student services and internationalisation.
