The Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV) is a Catholic university in Valparaíso, Chile, which marks a hundred years of service to the Valparaíso region. It describes itself as a comprehensive institution covering a wide range of fields, and it holds the maximum institutional accreditation of seven years granted by Chile's National Accreditation Commission (CNA). Its main building (Casa Central) is at Avenida Brasil 2950 in Valparaíso.

Teaching takes place at several sites, including the Curauma campus in Placilla, the Sausalito campus and the School of Architecture and Design in Viña del Mar, and a PUCV Santiago site. Its schools, faculties and institutes include:

  • Engineering, including Computer Engineering and Biochemical Engineering
  • School of Marine Sciences
  • School of Business and Economics
  • Institutes of History and Geography
  • School of Physical Education
  • Ecclesiastical Faculty of Theology

The PUCV also offers postgraduate programmes, such as a master's degree (magíster) in Oceanography; the application process for 2027 is under way. The university also has a central office for international affairs. According to the university, it was one of the pioneering institutions in marine research in Chile.
