The Universidad de Valparaíso (UV) is a public university in Chile and a member of the Consortium of State Universities of Chile (Cuech) and the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (Cruch). Its central sites are in Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, with further campuses in San Felipe and Santiago, and it has more than 17,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students. Its roots go back to the state law course founded in Valparaíso in 1911; the university in its current form was created by decree on 12 February 1981. The central address is Blanco 951, Valparaíso.
Eleven faculties offer more than 40 undergraduate degree programmes, as well as master's and doctoral programmes, health specialisations, postgraduate certificates and diplomas. The faculties are:

- Social Sciences, Law, and Humanities and Education
- Engineering
- Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy
UV has more than 100 bilateral exchange agreements with foreign universities and belongs to the Montevideo Group university network (AUGM); it also receives scholarship students from Pacific Alliance universities. Its Student Mobility Unit manages national and international undergraduate exchanges, including for foreign students coming to Valparaíso. First-year students receive academic and psycho-educational support through the APPA unit.
