The Universidad Nacional del Litoral (UNL) is a national university in Santa Fe, Argentina, created by national law on 17 October 1919. Today it has sites in the cities of Santa Fe, Esperanza, Gálvez, Reconquista, Avellaneda, Rafaela and Sunchales. Its Rectorate building, completed in 1935, stands on a block declared a National Historic Monument. The university has 10 faculties, two university centres, a higher institute and 14 research institutes run jointly with CONICET.

According to the university's 2025 figures, it offers:

  • 144 undergraduate and short-cycle degree programmes (112 on campus, 32 by distance learning)
  • 41 specialisations
  • 30 master's programmes
  • 19 doctoral programmes

In 2025 it had 61,316 undergraduate students, about 11,000 of them studying at a distance, and 3,141 postgraduate students. Each year UNL hosts hundreds of students, teachers and researchers from abroad. Through its accommodation system for foreign visitors (SAVE) it runs residences for international students in Santa Fe and Esperanza, and its international office is based in the Casa Internacional UNL, 9 de Julio 2655, Santa Fe.

Housing

UNL runs residences for foreign students through its accommodation system for international visitors (SAVE):

  • RAE 1, in the Casa Internacional UNL in central Santa Fe, with up to 32 places
  • RAE 3, in central Santa Fe close to the Casa Internacional, for up to 11 students
  • RAE 2, in Esperanza next to the Faculties of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences, with up to 21 places and a private bathroom in every room

The residences have kitchens, dining and study areas, Wi-Fi, and provide bed linen and towels. Visiting postgraduate students can also use three furnished duplex units on the Ciudad Universitaria campus.
