The Universidad Privada Boliviana (UPB) is a private university in Bolivia, founded on 10 October 1992 by Bolivian business leaders in response to the economic and institutional crisis the country had faced since the 1980s. It has campuses in Cochabamba, La Paz and Santa Cruz and follows a multimodal academic model. Teaching is organised in the Olave School of Business (Faculty of Business and Law) and the School of Technological Development & Innovation (Faculty of Engineering & Architecture).

Applicants upload a personal essay, a CV and their final-year secondary-school transcript, then sit the UPB Academic Aptitude Test (PAA). Scholarships include a merit award covering up to 100% of tuition for top secondary-school graduates, as well as talent, corporate-sponsorship and need-based equity scholarships. Student life includes more than 80 clubs, sports and volunteering.

Admission

Undergraduate admission at UPB has three steps:

  • Online application with a personal essay, CV and final-year (fifth-year) secondary-school transcript
  • Registration for the UPB Academic Aptitude Test (PAA), with published dates and study guides
  • Results through the UPB platform or the applicant's admissions advisor

Scholarships and financial aid

  • 100 Best and Academic Merit Scholarship: up to 100% funding for any UPB programme, for top secondary-school graduates
  • Talent Scholarship: for students active in the arts, sport, leadership or entrepreneurship
  • Corporate Sponsorship Scholarship: funding through partner companies, with internships
  • Equity Scholarship: support for academically strong students facing economic hardship
