The Universidad Fernando Pessoa Canarias (UFPC) is a private university in Gran Canaria. It was recognised as a private university within the Canary Islands university system by Law 1/2014 of 15 May, and it awards officially recognised degrees. Its main campus is in Santa María de Guía and it has further centres in the Vegueta district of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, including a centre for official postgraduate programmes.
Teaching is organised in a Faculty of Health Sciences, a Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, a Faculty of Science and Technology and a Doctoral School. Bachelor's degrees (grados) cover medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, psychology and other health fields, as well as sport sciences, journalism and audiovisual communication. The university also offers master's degrees and doctoral programmes. Most official bachelor's and master's degrees are taught on campus. Students train in the university's own dental and psychology clinics, a polyclinic, a television set and a radio studio, and a mobility programme supports study periods abroad.
Applications for all programmes are made online. As a private university, UFPC students can apply for the general scholarships of the Spanish Ministry of Education (Beca MEC).
