The Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa) is a university in Lisbon, Portugal, created by the merger of the former Universidade Técnica de Lisboa and the previous Universidade de Lisboa. Its history page links it to the first Portuguese university, founded in Lisbon in 1288, and to the schools and institutes that came together in 1911 and 1930 to form the two predecessor universities. According to the university, it has about 51,000 students, 11,000 of them international.
Programmes cover all areas of knowledge, at these levels:
- Licenciatura (bachelor's degree, 1st cycle)
- Integrated master's degrees (1st and 2nd cycles) in Architecture, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicine, Dental Medicine and Veterinary Medicine
- Master's degrees (2nd cycle)
- Doctorates (3rd cycle)
- Postgraduate diplomas
Bachelor's programmes are taught by schools such as the Faculty of Sciences, the Faculty of Law, ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics & Management, the School of Arts and Humanities and Técnico ULisboa. For the 2026/2027 academic year, tuition for bachelor's and integrated master's programmes is €697; fees for international students are shown on each course page. The university has student residences, each supported by a social worker from its social services (SASULisboa) and by a committee of resident students who help newcomers.

Licenciatura (bachelor's, 1st cycle) programmes are offered by the university's schools, for example:

2026/2027 academic year: the annual tuition fee for bachelor's (licenciatura) and integrated master's programmes is €697, unchanged from the previous year. Fees for master's degrees (2nd cycle) and doctorates (3rd cycle) vary from school to school. Fees for international students are set by the General Council and shown on the page of each course.
The university has student residences (residências universitárias), among them António Cruz Serra, Ventura Terra, Duarte Pacheco and Manuel da Maia. Each residence is regularly supported by a social worker from the university's social services (SASULisboa), and a committee of resident students helps colleagues, especially newcomers. The social services are based in the Cantina Velha building.
