The Université de Caen Normandie (University of Caen Normandy) is a university in Caen, in Normandy, France. Besides its campuses in the Caen area, it has sites in Alençon, Cherbourg-Octeville, Lisieux, Saint-Lô and Vire. It is a member of the AcrossEU European Universities Alliance and runs an English-language website for international students.
Its faculties and schools cover:
- Law, economic and social administration and public administration
- Economics, business management, geography and land planning
- Humanities and social sciences, foreign languages and psychology
- Health and sciences
- Sport sciences (STAPS)
- IUT Grand Ouest Normandie, IAE business school, INSPE teacher training and the ESIX engineering school
Programmes range from bachelor's degrees (licence, BUT) to master's degrees, engineering degrees and doctorates, and the university takes part in four graduate schools in chemistry, mathematics and computer science, materials and energy, and nuclear physics. International students can come as exchange students or as degree-seeking students; non-EU applicants usually apply through the Études en France platform. The Carré international offers French as a foreign language, a university diploma of French studies (DUEF) and summer schools.

Master's degrees, engineering degrees (ESIX Normandie) and doctorates in eight doctoral schools, from law, economics and humanities to biology and health, chemistry, mathematics and computer science, and physics and engineering. The university takes part in four graduate schools that combine master's and doctoral training:
- XL-Chem (molecular chemistry)
- MINMACS (mathematics and computer science)
- Graduate School for Materials and Energy Sciences
- N2P (nuclear physics), linked to an Erasmus Mundus master's degree
Admission routes depend on nationality, country of residence, secondary school certificate and level of study:
- First year of a bachelor's programme, non-EU applicants: prior admission procedure (DAP) on the Études en France platform
- First year (L1, BUT 1) with a French or European baccalaureate, or for Swiss, Monaco and Andorra citizens: Parcoursup
- Master's or engineering programmes, applicants from Études en France countries: Études en France platform
- Master's first year for residents of France or the EU: MonMaster; later years and professional bachelor's: eCandidat
Students from outside the EU, the EEA and Switzerland pay differentiated tuition fees unless they qualify for an exemption. For the 2026-27 academic year these are:
- Undergraduate programmes (bachelor's degree, BUT, nursing and similar): €2,902
- Postgraduate programmes (master's degree, midwifery and similar): €3,950
EU/EEA, Swiss and some other students, PhD students and students on engineering degrees are not subject to these fees. The university may grant full or partial exemptions on individual application, within a 30% quota for 2026-27.
