It has campuses in Gatineau (Pavillon Alexandre-Taché and Pavillon Lucien-Brault) and in Saint-Jérôme, in the Laurentides region, plus the Pavillon Pierre-Moreau in Ripon, home to its temperate forest science institute (ISFORT). UQO offers more than a hundred study options at undergraduate and graduate level, with 15 research chairs. Bachelor's programmes include administration, law, education, computer science, kinesiology, psychology, psychoeducation, industrial relations and human resources, nursing, social work and several social science programmes (communication, international development, economics, history, political science, sociology); many run as co-operative programmes with paid work terms.

International students apply online through the general admission process and pay an application fee of CAD 120; the registrar publishes a guide to the foreign diplomas that give access to each programme. In Gatineau, furnished student residences sit next to the Pavillon Alexandre-Taché, and an off-campus housing service lists rooms and flats in the area.
