Northumbria University (University of Northumbria at Newcastle) is a research-intensive university based in Newcastle upon Tyne, in the UK, with an additional campus in London. It originates from Rutherford College, founded in 1880, and attracts students from 137 countries. Northumbria is in the UK top 25 for research power in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021 and received gold for student outcomes and silver overall in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023. It works with employers such as Nike, IBM and the NHS.
