University of Bremen
University, Graduate school in Bremen, Germany
The Universität Bremen (University of Bremen) is a university in the German city of Bremen. Together with the University of Oldenburg it forms the Northwest Alliance. It hosts the Cluster of Excellence "Die Marsperspektive" and a drop tower (Fallturm), and with the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) it runs the B-Human robotics team. In the current round of Germany's Excellence Strategy, the Northwest Alliance did not obtain status as an "Excellence Alliance".
The university offers bachelor's and master's degrees. Its master's programmes are either subject master's degrees (M.Sc., M.A. and LL.M.), each with its own admission regulations, or the Master of Education (M.Ed.) for bachelor's graduates who want to teach in public schools. Applications for master's programmes are made online. The university also offers continuing education, such as a part-time microdegree in business model innovation.
The International Office supports exchange students: 170 exchange students are at the university in the 2026-27 winter semester. New students start with an orientation week, and the Uni-Start-Portal gives first-year students information about the start of their studies.
