Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences

Vidzemes Augstskola (Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, ViA) is a higher education institution in Valmiera, Latvia, with buildings at Cēsu iela 4 and Tērbatas iela 10. It celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2026. Its academic units are the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Society and Science, together with the ViA Scientific Institute (ViAZI) and the Vidzeme Open Innovation Hub. ViA also offers lifelong learning and takes part in E³UDRES², whose 2026 autumn summit it hosts.

For international degree students, ViA states that it currently has no full-time bachelor's programmes taught in English. Information on English-taught programmes and intakes for the 2027/2028 academic year will be published on its website. This does not apply to Erasmus+ exchange students at bachelor's level. The university also runs short Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) on topics such as science communication, media literacy and outdoor entrepreneurship, and an international doctoral summer school.

The ViA library and Valmiera Library together form the Valmiera Integrated Library. Questions on admission, international cooperation and exchange studies are handled at Tērbatas iela 10, room T107 (+371 22042022).
