Walla Walla University (WWU) is a private, Seventh-day Adventist university with its main campus in College Place, in southeastern Washington state. The 83-acre campus has more than 1,800 students, and the university states that 43 countries are represented. WWU also runs a School of Nursing in Portland, Oregon, a marine laboratory on Puget Sound near Anacortes, Washington, and offers its graduate social work programme in Billings and Missoula, Montana.

The university offers more than 100 study options, from the liberal arts and sciences to professional studies, all rooted in a liberal arts philosophy. Degrees range from associate and bachelor's degrees to master's degrees (including an MBA, M.Ed., M.Eng. and M.S.W.) and a Doctor of Social Work. Campus life follows an Adventist lifestyle, with worship and service opportunities, and 9% of students study abroad.

International applicants need certified secondary school certificates with a transcript evaluation, and English test scores if English is not their first language. An international student liaison in the admissions office assists applicants. Students can live in residence halls or, if eligible, in university apartments and houses in College Place; nursing students can live in Hansen Hall in Portland.
