Western Washington University (WWU) is a public university established in 1893, with its main campus in Bellingham, Washington, between Seattle and Vancouver, Canada. According to the university, it is the third largest public university in Washington state. It also has locations in Everett, Poulsbo, Bremerton and Port Angeles, and the Shannon Point Marine Center in Anacortes.

WWU has seven colleges and more than 200 undergraduate programmes, from the sciences, business and computer science to education, the arts and environmental studies; students can also design their own major. The Graduate School offers over 50 graduate degree and certificate programmes in STEM, education, the arts and humanities, and social and health sciences.

International students apply through the WWU Application or the Common App and pay the same tuition as out-of-state students. Merit scholarships for international students of up to US$10,000 per year are available, and English proficiency can be shown with TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo or SAT scores. About 30% of undergraduates live in the campus residence halls, and new students receive housing priority.
