Adelaide University is a university in South Australia that builds on the resources of its foundation institutions, which together have more than 180 years of history. It is the largest university in the state, with seven campuses: Adelaide City Campus in the central business district, the suburban campuses of Magill, Mawson Lakes and Waite, and regional campuses in Mount Gambier, Roseworthy and Whyalla. It is a member of the Group of Eight, the group of Australia's research-intensive universities, and states that it is ranked 79th in the 2027 QS World University Rankings.
The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees, fully online degrees, and short courses, micro-credentials and professional certificates. Applications for study starting in 2027 are open. Domestic students apply for most degrees through the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC), while international students and research degree applicants apply directly. Scholarships are available for Australian and international students.
The Accommodation Service helps students find housing, from the university-managed Adelaide University Village and partner providers to residential colleges, private rentals and homestays, and can arrange airport pickup.

Admission
Domestic students apply for most degrees online through the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC), listing up to six preferences. International students, research degree applicants and applicants to 100% online degrees follow separate application routes. Each degree has its own entry requirements, which can include:
- Prerequisite subjects from high school (SACE/IB), bridging courses or approved alternatives
- Assumed knowledge topics
- Non-standard requirements such as an interview, additional tests (e.g. UCAT ANZ), an audition, a written statement or a creative portfolio
Housing
The university's Accommodation Service, available 24/7, helps students find housing and gives local market information and cost estimates. Options include:
- Adelaide University Village, the university-managed student accommodation in Adelaide
- Preferred partner providers and affiliated residential colleges
- Private rentals, short-term stays and homestays
The service also arranges temporary accommodation and airport pickup, and helps international students under 18 find university-approved accommodation.
