Edith Cowan University (ECU) is an institution of higher education, operating in Perth, Western Australia. Having become a university in 1991, Edith Cowan University was named after the first woman to be elected to an Australian Parliament, Edith Cowan, which makes it the only Australian university named after a woman. The school has made available over 400 courses on three campuses - in Mount Lawley and Joondalup as well as a campus in the south west – Bunbury. Furthermore, the university has established partnerships with a number of other education institutions to conduct courses and programs offshore. Edith Cowan University is organized into four faculties – Faculty of Business and Law; Faculty of Computing, Health and Science; Faculty of Education and Arts; and The Faculty of Regional Professional Studies. Another noteworthy fact is that the university is the largest provider of Psychology and Community Studies courses in Western Australia.
