Amauta Spanish School
Language school in Cusco, Peru
AMAUTA Spanish School is a Spanish language school in Cusco, Peru founded in 1996, with its main school in the San Blas area of the city. The school states that it is recognised by the Peruvian Ministry of Education and approved for German Bildungsurlaub and by the Swedish CSN. Besides Cusco, it teaches in Lima, the Sacred Valley and the Tambopata area of the Amazon rainforest.
Courses cover all levels from A1 to C2, follow the Common European Framework and use a communicative method; groups have at most six students, a placement test is held on the first day and teachers are native speakers. Programmes are open to adults, young adults, teens and children:
- Group, individual and combined Spanish lessons, also online
- Specialised courses such as DELE preparation, Medical Spanish and Spanish for university credit
- Spanish for families, travellers and students over 55
- Spanish combined with volunteer work, culture, adventure or excursions
Students can stay with host families in Cusco or Lima, in the student residence in Cusco, on the campuses in the Sacred Valley and the rainforest, or in a student apartment. Free cultural activities, such as salsa and Peruvian cooking, start every Monday.

Fees
Prices for programmes starting in 2026 (Cusco, in US dollars):
- Enrolment fee: US$45 (not included in course prices)
- Homestay: US$165 per week or US$28 per day
- Homestay with laundry service: US$190 per week or US$32 per day
- Sacred Valley campus: US$240 per week or US$40 per day

Housing
Students can stay with a host family (Cusco and Lima), in the student residence in central Cusco, on the school campuses in the Sacred Valley and the rainforest, or in a student apartment in Cusco, recommended for longer stays. They may also arrange their own accommodation.
