Atlantic Shores Christian School (ASCS) is an independent, non-denominational Christian day school in Chesapeake, Virginia, serving pupils from preschool to grade 12. It was established in 1985, draws students from across the Hampton Roads area and serves families from nearly 100 different churches. The Bible is incorporated into all areas of the educational programme.
The school occupies two buildings at 1217 N. Centerville Turnpike: an elementary building for K3 to grade 5 and a secondary building for grades 6 to 12, which also houses the athletic facilities. The school lists honors courses among its academic offer and states that 46% of its faculty hold advanced degrees.
Admission is handled entirely online and starts with a short inquiry form; an admission director then arranges a tour. Acceptance is based on past achievement, a favourable pastoral recommendation, a family interview and a signed agreement to follow the school's standards, and all new students have an eight-week probationary period. Secondary students must profess the Christian faith, and at least one parent must regularly attend a Bible-believing church.
