Study abroad program in Boston, The United States
Boston University Study Abroad is part of BU Global Programs at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. Its office is at 888 Commonwealth Avenue. It runs study abroad programmes in more than 30 cities in over 20 countries, open to Boston University students and to students from other universities across the United States. Around 2,300 students study abroad with BU each year. According to the university, BU was one of the first US institutions to send students abroad and the first to offer academic internships on several continents.

Many courses taken abroad count towards the BU Hub, the university's general education programme. Housing depends on the programme and may be a programme residence, a university dormitory or a local homestay; when the programme fee includes housing, students must live in programme housing. Housing
Housing depends on the programme. The main types are:

Each programme page describes the accommodation, the meals included and whether single rooms are available. When the programme fee includes housing, students must live in programme housing; exceptions (for example living with a family member) are requested with an online form by 15 May (autumn or academic year), 15 October (spring) or 15 March (summer).
