ESADIB - Escola Superior d'Art Dramatic Illes Balears
Higher education centre in Palma de Mallorca, Spain
The Escola Superior d'Art Dramàtic de les Illes Balears (ESADIB) is the higher school of dramatic art of the Balearic Islands. It was founded in 2006 as a higher education centre for teaching and research in the performing arts, and trains professionals at the level of higher artistic education in dramatic art.
The school offers the Título Superior de Arte Dramático, a higher qualification in dramatic art, with a specialisation in acting (Interpretación). Studies culminate in staged workshops in the fourth year. The language of teaching at ESADIB is Catalan.
Admission is through in-person entrance tests, also held in Catalan, with an ordinary call in July and an extraordinary call in September. Applicants need the Spanish bachillerato or an equivalent qualification, or another recognised access route such as the university entrance exam for people over 25. Candidates who passed the entrance tests at another higher school of dramatic art in Spain in the same year may be admitted without new tests if places are available. International applicants must meet the requirements for access to higher education in Spain; some need their qualifications recognised (homologated) by the Spanish Ministry of Education. The school holds open days for prospective students.
