Mundo Antiguo Spanish School
Language school in Cusco, Peru
Mundo Antiguo Spanish School is a small Spanish language school in the San Blas neighbourhood of Cusco, Peru, run by its owners Carina Berrio and Koen Schilting. It is housed in a colonial building more than 300 years old, between the main square and San Blas square, and has eight classrooms. The school states that it is recognised by Peru's Ministry of Education, and it is licensed by the Municipalidad Provincial del Cusco as a language and cultural education centre. Its teachers hold ELE certificates issued by ELE Internacional.
Courses follow the CEFR from A1 to C2, groups have at most four students, and classes usually start on Mondays after a free placement test.

- Spanish instruction for semester-abroad programmes, with partners such as SIT Study Abroad
Students can stay with a local host family or in a shared apartment, and a free airport pick-up in Cusco is included with at least one week of accommodation. Every programme includes a weekly salsa class and a cultural activity.

Levels A1 to C2 following the CEFR. Classes run Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 13:00 and 14:00 and 18:00, usually starting on Mondays; course materials, a placement test and a certificate are included.
Fees
Prices for 2026, in US dollars (no enrolment fee or deposit):
- Group course, 20 hours per week: US$145
- Private classes: US$13 per hour; US$120 for 10 hours, US$170 for 15 hours, US$220 for 20 hours per week
- Special courses (individual): US$17 per hour or US$160 for 10 hours
- Host family: US$165 per week (extra day US$25)
- Shared apartment: US$95 per week (extra day US$14)
- 20 hours of group classes plus one week of homestay: US$300
- Four-week Spanish immersion programme: US$1,623
Housing
Mundo Antiguo arranges two types of accommodation in Cusco:
- Host family stay with a private bedroom, Wi-Fi and breakfast, lunch and dinner with the family, usually chosen for short and medium stays
- Shared apartment with other students, with a private bedroom and Wi-Fi, usually chosen for medium and long stays
A free airport pick-up in Cusco is included when at least one week of accommodation is booked through the school.
