Pokhara University

Pokhara University (PU) is a university in Pokhara, in the Kaski district of Nepal. It was established in 1997 under the Pokhara University Act, 1997, and is a non-profit autonomous institution funded partly by the Government of Nepal and partly by revenue from its students and affiliated colleges. Its central office is in Pokhara Metropolitan City-30. According to the university, it has around 37,790 students and 66 colleges.

PU offers undergraduate, graduate, MPhil and PhD programmes through four faculties:

• Faculty of Management Studies
• Faculty of Science and Technology
• Faculty of Health Sciences
• Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

The university's own constituent schools (School of Business, School of Engineering, School of Health and Allied Sciences, and School of Development and Social Engineering) are at Kudi, Dhungepatan, in Pokhara, where they run 27 programmes: 14 bachelor's, 11 master's and 2 PhD. Affiliated campuses across Nepal run further bachelor's, master's, MPhil and postgraduate diploma programmes. PU also has a teaching hospital. Admission applications, course registration and fee payments are handled through its online services, and scholarships cover 10% of seats in affiliated colleges and 20% in constituent schools.
