Rosseau Lake College

Primary and secondary school in Rosseau, Canada

Rosseau Lake College (RLC) is an independent, coeducational day and boarding school for Grades 7 to 12 in Rosseau, in the Muskoka region of Ontario, Canada, about two and a half hours' drive north of Toronto. Founded in 1967 as a boys' school, it became coeducational in 1983. The campus lies at the northern tip of Lake Rosseau, with about 3,300 feet of lakefront.

Teaching follows the Ontario provincial curriculum with an experiential, inquiry-based approach, and Indigenous culture and history are integrated across subjects. The school has about 140 students, roughly half of them international, from more than 20 nationalities, and an average class size of 18. The school also runs an English Language Learning programme. Outdoor education is central: the campus has canoes, kayaks, sailboats, climbing walls and a snowboard terrain park. Athletics are compulsory all year, and RLC competes in the Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA); students can also take part in Round Square and the Duke of Edinburgh award.

Most students board on campus in four boarding houses. About a quarter of families receive tuition assistance, and entrance scholarships are available. Admissions can be contacted by phone or at [email protected].
