The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS)

The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS) is a university of applied sciences in the Netherlands. Its main campus is in The Hague, and it also has the Zuiderpark Sports Campus and the Poseidon building in The Hague and campuses in Delft and Zoetermeer. THUAS offers English-taught programmes for students from around the world and carries out practice-oriented research on issues such as inclusive education, safety, and AI and data.

The university lists 31 full-time and 19 part-time or work-study programmes, from short courses to four-year degrees:

  • Bachelor's degrees, for example International and European Law, European Studies, International Business, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Industrial Design Engineering
  • Three-year fast-track bachelor's programmes for students with a vwo or equivalent diploma
  • Master's programmes, including MBAs, and postgraduate courses for professionals
  • Exchange programmes and an English Academic Preparation Programme

Applications go through Studielink, the Dutch national registration system. For non-EU/EEA master's students, THUAS applies for the student residence permit. University accommodation is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Programmes

English-taught full-time bachelor's programmes (three or four years) include:

  • Applied Computer Science (three-year fast track)
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, Process & Food Technology
  • European Studies, International and European Law, International Public Policy and Leadership
  • International Business, International Financial Management & Control
  • International Communication Management
  • Safety and Security Management Studies
  • Sport Studies | International Sport Management

Graduate programmes

Master's programmes are offered full-time (mostly one year) or part-time (usually two years):

  • Master of Business Administration, including Artificial Intelligence and Finance tracks
  • Data Driven Business
  • International Communication Management
  • Master of Financial Management and Control
  • Next Level Engineering and Sustainability Transitions
  • Applied Quantum Technology (two years)

THUAS Pro also runs part-time postgraduate courses (for example Big Data Analyst) and 10-week master's modules; the modules are only open to people living and working in the Netherlands or holding a valid visa.

Admission

Applicants first check the entry requirements of their programme and then apply through Studielink, the Dutch national registration system (or through a THUAS agent in their country). They then complete the application in THUAS's Osiris system and upload:

  • a copy of an EU ID card or passport
  • their diploma with a recent grade list or official transcript
  • a valid English language test result

Master's applicants are assessed on prior education, work experience, motivation and English skills, and eligible candidates are invited to an intake interview. Enrolment is completed once tuition fees are paid.
