The Universidad del Valle de Guatemala (UVG) is a private university based in Guatemala City with three campuses and more than 50 years of history. Its educational model combines a broad liberal arts focus with specialised training in science, technology, innovation, entrepreneurship and education. According to the university, it is the only university in Guatemala with institutional accreditation from Hcéres, and it ranks first among private universities in Central America and Panama in the QS ranking.

Applications for bachelor's degrees (licenciaturas) are made through an online admissions portal and include an admission test, the PAA; results from the College Board PAA taken elsewhere can be used. International applicants identify themselves with their passport. UVG offers financial aid and scholarships for talented students with limited resources.

- Education: secondary and specialised teaching degrees (profesorados), one of them fully online, and licenciaturas in Education, Music Education, ELT and Educational Psychology

Admission
- Bachelor's degrees (licenciaturas): online application with a photo, official secondary school transcripts and an ID document (passport for foreign applicants), followed by the PAA admission test, online or on campus; PAA results from the College Board taken elsewhere are accepted. Results come in about two to three weeks, and the test can be retaken after two months
- Education faculty: online application and an interview with the programme director
- UVG Masters: online application with ID, university degree and CV, reviewed by the programme director
