Universität Ulm (Ulm University) is a young research university in Ulm, Germany, which describes itself as the highest-situated university in the country. It focuses on medicine and STEM subjects (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and engineering) and has about 10,000 students. Its research concentrates on four profile areas: Green Energy, Quantum Science and Technology, Life Long Health, and Interdisciplinary Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. On its Green Energy Campus, the university hosts POLiS (Post Lithium Storage), a cluster of excellence for battery research.
The university has four faculties, which offer more than 60 degree programmes taught in German or English:

- Mathematics and Economics
- Medicine
- Natural Sciences
Knowledge of German is required for all bachelor's programmes. Most bachelor's programmes have open admission for applicants who meet the entry requirements and start only in the winter semester. Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Medicine and Psychology have restricted places and take part in the Hochschulstart dialogue-oriented service procedure (DoSV). The International Office holds welcome events for new international students.

Programmes
Bachelor's programmes (Bachelorstudiengänge) are taught in German. Programmes with open admission start in the winter semester and include:
- Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
- Computer Science, Software Engineering and Media Informatics
- Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
- Business Management and Digital Transformation, Economics
- Teacher training for upper secondary schools (Lehramt Gymnasium)
Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Medicine and Psychology have restricted admission. An orientation semester starts in the summer semester.
Admission
Bachelor's programmes with open admission accept everyone who meets the entry requirements. For the restricted programmes (Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Medicine and Psychology), German and EU citizens, applicants with equivalent status and holders of a German university entrance qualification (Abitur) apply through the Hochschulstart dialogue-oriented service procedure (DoSV). Applicants from outside the EU and EEA without a German Abitur follow a separate procedure for international applicants. Anyone starting a degree at a university in Baden-Württemberg, including Ulm, must complete a study orientation procedure and present the participation certificate at enrolment.
Language requirements
