Alliance Française Bordeaux Aquitaine

The Alliance Française Bordeaux Nouvelle-Aquitaine is a French language school in the centre of Bordeaux. It belongs to the international network of Alliances Françaises, which brings together more than 800 associations in more than 135 countries. The school holds the FLE Quality Label (French as a foreign language) and Qualiopi certification, and states that it trains more than 3,000 foreign students each year.

French courses run all year round for all levels and are aligned with the CEFR levels:

  • Intensive general French course (20 hours per week, Monday to Friday mornings, levels A1 to C1)
  • Online afternoon and evening French classes
  • DELF-DALF preparation course (online)
  • Private lessons
  • Thematic workshops: conversation, written French and phonetics
  • Training course for teachers of French as a foreign language

The school is also an official examination centre for DELF/DALF, TCF and TEF. For students registered on a course, it can arrange accommodation with a host family or in a hotel or student residence, and it organises a range of cultural activities.

Programmes

  • Online evening French courses: 4 hours per week, Tuesday and Thursday
  • Online DELF-DALF preparation: 10-hour DELF or 15-hour DALF package
  • Thematic workshops: conversation, written French, phonetics
  • Private lessons on request
  • FLE teacher training course: 21 to 43 hours, from level B2

All courses are aligned with the CEFR levels.

Housing

The Alliance Française Bordeaux arranges accommodation for students who are registered on and attending a course:

  • Host family
  • Hotel residence
  • Student residence

Accommodation is chosen close to the school and served by public transport. Rent is paid directly to the family or residence, and the school charges a €50 administrative fee per booking. Its accommodation page also lists flat-rental, flat-share and youth hostel options for students who prefer to find their own place.
