The American Institute For Foreign Study (AIFS) is a study abroad organisation founded in 1964 by Sir Cyril Taylor and owned by a UK charity he established. Through AIFS Abroad it runs study abroad, internship, volunteer and customised faculty-led programmes in Asia, Australia, Europe, South Africa and the Americas, in more than 30 destinations. According to AIFS, more than 1.8 million students have taken part in its programmes.

• Study and travel programmes
• Virtual internships

Programmes run in fall, spring and summer as well as shorter January, May and winter terms. In Spain, destinations include Barcelona, Granada, Madrid, Salamanca, Seville and Valencia. AIFS states that most colleges in the United States accept the credits earned on its programmes. Programmes include tuition, housing, on-site support, cultural activities, travel and medical insurance and 24/7 emergency support, and more than half of participants receive financial support.
