Aoyama Gakuin University (AGU)

Aoyama Gakuin University (AGU) is a private university in Japan. It was founded in 1949 as part of Aoyama Gakuin, an educational institution established in 1874, and its educational policy is based on the Christian faith. Its motto is "The salt of the earth, the light of the world". Teaching takes place on two campuses, the Aoyama Campus and the Sagamihara Campus.

AGU offers undergraduate programmes, graduate programmes and professional graduate schools, as well as academic programmes taught in English. Its colleges include the College of Education, Psychology and Human Studies.

International students can study at AGU as full-time degree students or through its exchange programme. Recent exchange students have come from institutions such as Hendrix College (USA), the University of Kent (United Kingdom) and the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Ukraine). The International Center supports international students, and the university provides information on the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for research students. Campus services include student facilities and support, career support and extracurricular clubs.
