Barcelona High School (BHS) is an international American school in Barcelona for students aged 3 to 18. It teaches an American curriculum and leads to the American Middle and High School Diploma, with Advanced Placement (AP) courses and an alternative Spanish ESO track. The school uses two campuses separated by age: BHS Elementary & Preschool at Carrer de Montornès 37, and the Middle and High School at Carrer de Joan d'Àustria 109.

The school gives an average class size of 12 students and runs an English Language Learner (ELL) programme for beginner and intermediate learners. BHS offers AP exams to its own and to external students. Admissions are open all year, a free trial day is available, and non-EU students without Spanish residency who need a student visa receive a matriculation letter once enrolment is complete.

Admission Requirements

Admissions are open all year. The steps are:

  • In-person or online meeting with BHS Admissions
  • Enrolment documents: official school transcripts (with translations if required) and passport or ID
  • Payment of the one-time entrance fee and the annual matriculation fee
  • If needed, student visa application with the BHS matriculation letter
  • First month of tuition, or the full year in one payment
