Baylor University is a private Christian university in Waco, Texas (United States), classified as a Research 1 institution. It was chartered in 1845 by the Republic of Texas through the efforts of Baptist pioneers and, according to the university, is the oldest continually operating university in Texas. More than 20,000 students from all 50 US states and more than 90 countries study there.

Baylor offers a broad range of undergraduate degrees across 12 academic divisions, as well as graduate and professional programmes, and personalised pathways for future healthcare professionals. Its graduate education, informed by a Christian perspective, prepares students for academia, business, medicine, research and the arts.

International first-year and transfer applicants apply through the Baylor Online Application or the Common Application and track their file in a goBAYLOR account. The checklist includes secondary school transcripts, external exams or certificates where applicable, optional SAT/ACT scores, proof of English language proficiency, financial aid applications and an essay. First-year applicants can choose binding Early Decision, Early Action or Regular Decision for fall admission, and a spring intake is also available. The admissions office links international applicants to the Center for Global Engagement.
