The British School of Tenerife (BST), also known as the British International School of Tenerife, is a private British school in the north of Tenerife for children aged 18 months to 18. It was formed in 2010 by the merger of the International British Yeoward School, founded in 1967 in Puerto de la Cruz, and Trinity School in Los Realejos. The school follows the British education system and has been recognised by the Spanish government as an international school since 1979.
Teaching is split between two sites: La Luz, in La Orotava, for Early Years and Primary, and Los Realejos for Secondary.
- Early Years Foundation Stage, 18 months to 5 years
- Primary, ages 5-11
- Secondary, ages 11-18, with GCSE/IGCSE and A level exams
The school states that it has more than 500 students of over 30 nationalities and more than 60 teachers. In an international inspection by Penta, inspectors noted that students have positive attitudes to learning and that their behaviour is exemplary. Both sites have dining halls serving meals cooked on site, with a menu planned by a nutritionist, and admissions are open to students from all over the world.
