Cedarville University is a Baptist Christian university in Cedarville, in southwest Ohio (United States). It was founded in 1887 and has 7,542 undergraduate, graduate and dual-enrolled students. Faith is part of the curriculum: courses integrate a biblical perspective and every undergraduate completes a Bible minor.

Cedarville offers more than 150 undergraduate programmes and more than 40 graduate programmes, on campus and online. Graduate ministry programmes are taught through Cedarville Theological Seminary. Areas of study include:

  • Business and computer science

  • Nursing, pharmacy and allied health
  • Biblical and theological studies
  • Education, psychology and social work
  • Arts, design, communication and music

International students are supported by the International Student Services office, which offers academic support tailored to them, and many online programmes can be completed from abroad without a visa. Applicants must give evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and non-native English speakers need TOEFL 80 or IELTS 6.5. About 85% of undergraduates live on campus, in 27 residence halls.

PharmD, PA and Athletic Training applicants use the national application services (PharmCAS, CASPA, ATCAS).

Admission Requirements

International undergraduate applicants submit:

  • Evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • A recommendation from a Christian leader
  • Secondary school transcripts, and college transcripts if they are transferring
  • Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, English3 or other means)

ACT, SAT or CLT scores are not required in most cases. Most students use the free Cedarville Priority Application; first-year applicants can also use the Common App.

Language Requirements

International undergraduate applicants must show English proficiency, normally with a minimum TOEFL score of 80 or IELTS 6.5; the English3 test is also accepted, and proficiency can be shown by other means.

Financial Aid

New residential first-year students starting in fall 2027 receive academic scholarships of US$16,500 to US$26,500 per year, renewable for four years if they keep the required GPA. The international students page states that scholarships and financial aid are also available to international students.

Housing

About 85% of undergraduates live on campus. Cedarville has 27 residence halls, as well as apartments, townhouses, graduate housing and married housing; information on off-campus housing is also available. Each hall has student resident assistants and a full-time resident director.
