Babilonia – Center for Italian Language and Culture is an Italian language school at Via Timoleone 10 in Taormina, Sicily, that also runs study abroad programmes. These include semester and year-long programmes, summer programmes, internships (conducted in Italian) and graduate courses in Italian Studies, for which graduate students and teachers can earn professional development credits. Babilonia is approved for students who receive FLAS (Foreign Language and Area Studies) fellowships through their home institutions.

Italian language courses are taught in Italian from the first day, in multinational, mixed-age classes, at all levels from A0 to C2 of the European framework, and last from one week to one year. Other options include:

• Private and online lessons
• Culture courses on Sicilian writers, art history, the history of Sicily and cinema
• CELI exam preparation, with exams taken at the school
• Italian for special purposes, such as business, law, architecture or medicine
• Italian Plus programmes, such as cooking, food and wine, or ceramics

Semester students can live with host families who serve traditional Sicilian meals. The school also arranges shared student apartments, homestays, independent studios and special rates at some hotels. A limited number of merit-based scholarships is available for semester, January and summer programmes.

Babilonia arranges accommodation in Taormina for its students:

• Shared student apartments with a single or double room and shared kitchen and bathroom
• Homestay with bed and breakfast, half board or full board
• Independent studio apartments, mostly for two people
• Special rates at some 2- and 3-star hotels

The school's accommodation manager checks all lodgings monthly. Air conditioning and wi-fi are generally not included.
