Central State University is a public university in Wilberforce, Ohio, in the Midwestern United States. It describes itself as Ohio's only public historically Black college or university (HBCU) and 1890 land-grant institution, with a history of more than 135 years. Besides the 636-acre main campus, it has satellite locations in Dayton, Trotwood and Xenia, and offers online degrees through Central State Global. The student-to-faculty ratio is 16:1.
Undergraduate programmes are grouped in three colleges, and the College of Business also offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA):
- College of Business: accounting and business administration
- College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, and Education: education, communication, criminal justice, music, psychology, social work and more
- College of Engineering, Science, Technology, and Agriculture: biology, computer science, manufacturing and environmental engineering, sustainable agriculture and more
International students apply as full-time students with a declared major and receive an I-20 for the F-1 visa once accepted. The Center for International Education provides visa (SEVIS) services and study-abroad opportunities. All first-year students live on campus in one of seven residence halls.

Majors open to international students, by college:

International applicants complete the online application in English, apply for full-time study and declare a major. Required documents:
- Official transcripts from all secondary schools and universities attended, plus the national secondary school examination transcript
- A credential evaluation (WES preferred, course-by-course)
- A copy of the passport
- Proof of English proficiency
- A financial sponsorship form with bank verification covering all expenses for the whole degree
Accepted students receive an I-20 for the F-1 visa.

- TOEFL iBT 61 (paper-based 500)
- IELTS 5.5
- Duolingo English Test 90
- Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE), grade C or better
- WAEC English, grade C or better
- ELS language centres, level 112 completed
Central State has seven residence halls, and every first-year student lives on campus; Foundation Hall II is for women only and Ernie & Della Green for men only. Options range from traditional dormitories to suites and apartments. From the junior year, students can move to apartment-style housing, and juniors and seniors in the Honors College or with a 3.5 GPA can live in the Wesley Village Honors Apartments.
