Higher education centre in Terrassa, Spain

The Centre de la Imatge i la Tecnologia Multimèdia (CITM) is a centre of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) on the UPC campus in Terrassa, near Barcelona. Its main site is at C/ de la Igualtat, 33. The CITM teaches official university bachelor's degrees (grados) in animation, multimedia and video games:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Animation and Digital Art
  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Design and Multimedia Technologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Video Game Design and Development, taught in Terrassa and, entirely in English, at the UPC School in Barcelona

Through the UPC School, the UPC also offers related postgraduate training: a master's programme in Advanced Programming for AAA Video Games, a live-online postgraduate course in Animation & Digital Arts for AAA Video Games and university microcredentials. The centre also takes part in doctoral studies in Design.

Admission to the bachelor's degrees goes through the Catalan university pre-registration system. Access routes include the university entrance exam (PAU), higher vocational training (CFGS), access for people over 25, 40 or 45, and qualifications from other EU education systems.

Each academic year carries 60 ECTS credits.

Graduate programmes

Postgraduate training related to the CITM's fields is offered by the UPC through the UPC School:

  • Master's programme in Advanced Programming for AAA Video Games (on campus)
  • Postgraduate course in Animation & Digital Arts for AAA Video Games (live online)
  • University microcredential in virtual production with Unreal Engine and LED screens (blended)
  • University microcredential in UX for the video game industry (live online)

The CITM also takes part in the academic committee of the doctorate in Design.

Admission

Places on the bachelor's degrees are allocated through the Catalan university pre-registration process run by the Generalitat de Catalunya. Access routes accepted include:

  • University entrance exam (PAU)
  • Higher vocational training (CFGS / FP II)
  • Previous university studies or a university degree
  • Qualifications from EU education systems and countries with reciprocity agreements
  • Access for people over 25, 40 or 45

Students who do not enrol within the set period lose the place assigned to them.

Fees

2026-27 academic year: the first year of the bachelor's degrees (60 ECTS credits) costs €6,900, which is €115 per ECTS credit.
