La Herradura Spanish School (Centro de Enseñanza de Español La Herradura) is a Spanish language school in Uruguay with two locations, Montevideo and Punta del Este, and also teaches online. It has taught Spanish since 1995: it began in Spain as a family project and later moved to Uruguay. The Montevideo school is at Colonia 2235 (Flex 360); visits are by appointment.

Courses cover all levels, from complete beginner to advanced, with a maximum of six students per group and teaching materials written by the school's own teachers. Students can start in one city and continue in the other. The main options are:

Intensive course: 20 hours per week, 4 hours a day
Course for students aged 50 and over: 10 group and 5 private hours per week
Spanish for expats living in Uruguay
Private lessons in general or Business Spanish
Online lessons
Custom courses: DELE exam preparation, residency preparation, Spanish for children and teenagers, Bildungsurlaub programmes

Two online placement tests help students choose their level. In Montevideo, students can stay with a local host family or in a shared family residence; in Punta del Este, the school recommends ZAG Coliving, which handles bookings directly.

In Montevideo the school offers two options, both in a private room with weekly stays from Sunday to Saturday (six nights):

Host family: breakfast and dinner included
Family residence: shared kitchen, bathrooms and living areas, meals not included

In Punta del Este, students can stay at ZAG Coliving, a shared residence in the Peninsula area with private rooms and a shared kitchen; bookings are made directly with ZAG.

Services and activities

Cantering across a sandy beach or mountain on a bike or horse, safari in jeep with hiking, fishexcursions, canoying, rambling, beach volleybal, two days rambling and rock climbing in the country side and much more. Tennis, diving, golf, windsurfing, sailing, dance, soccer and rugby.
