COINED International Santiago de Chile
Language school in Santiago de Chile, Chile
COINED International offers Spanish courses in Santiago de Chile as one of its Latin American destinations. COINED was founded in 1971 to organise exchanges between German and Argentinian secondary school students and later opened its first school of Spanish as a foreign language; today it runs programmes in more than 50 cities across Latin America, including volunteering and internships.
Across its schools, COINED offers General Spanish Courses, Spanish & Activities, Spanish & Professionals and a Senior Program. The main formats are:
- Intensive course (20 group lessons per week)
- Super intensive course (30 group lessons per week)
- Online private course (10 private lessons per week)
Groups have at most eight students, lessons last 45 minutes, and courses start any Monday for 1 to 52 weeks. The minimum age is 16, and a written and oral level test places students in one of six levels based on the CEFR. Teachers are native speakers with degrees in education, linguistics or related fields. Accommodation options are private or shared apartments, student residences, hostels and homestays with local families. The website gives these details for the COINED network as a whole rather than for the Santiago school specifically.
