Connecticut College (Conn) is a private liberal arts college founded in 1911 in New London, Connecticut, on a 750-acre arboretum campus overlooking Long Island Sound. It has about 2,000 undergraduate students and a student-faculty ratio of 9:1, and it is the only member of the NESCAC athletic conference with a waterfront location. Boston, Providence, Hartford and New York City are within reach for internships.

Students choose from 46 majors and 49 minors, or design their own major. The general education programme, Connections, combines courses from several disciplines with internships, research and study away; 43% of the Class of 2026 studied away. Every student has a team of advisers (faculty, staff, student and career), and the Hale Center's Career Action Program funds internships.

For international students, Conn meets the full demonstrated financial need of admitted students regardless of citizenship. Applicants from schools outside the United States must prove English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo), the college offers no ESL classes, and non-US citizens are generally admitted for the autumn semester only. Housing is provided for all four years, and most students live in campus residence halls.

All applications go through the Common Application, and there is no application fee. Required for first-year applicants:

Applicants from outside the United States submit an official TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo score report. There is no fixed minimum; successful applicants generally score around 100 on the TOEFL, 7.0 on IELTS and 130 on the Duolingo English Test. Dates and Deadlines

First-year entry in Fall 2027 (Common Application): Early Decision I and Early Action by 1 November (decision mid-December); Early Decision II and Regular Decision by 15 January (decisions mid-February and late March).

Financial Aid

Connecticut College meets the full demonstrated financial need of all applicants who apply for aid at the time of admission, regardless of citizenship; depending on need, packages may cover tuition, fees, housing, food, books, supplies and health insurance. Aid is typically a grant. Non-US citizens applying for aid complete the CSS Profile, and all international students submit the Verification of Financial Support. International students are expected to cover at least transport and personal expenses. Admission for aid applicants is highly competitive.

Housing

Housing is provided for all four years, and most students live in residence halls on campus. New students usually live in doubles, triples or quads, while continuing students mostly have singles and doubles. All residence halls are mixed gender with gender-inclusive bathrooms, and some have gender-specific floors. Roommates are matched using a New Student Housing Form.
