The Real Conservatorio Superior de Música "Victoria Eugenia" de Granada is a higher music conservatory that trains professional musicians. It is located in the city centre, at Calle San Jerónimo 46, in a 16th-century palace whose colonnaded courtyard and auditorium are used for performances.

The conservatory teaches higher music studies (enseñanzas artísticas superiores de música) in the following specialities:

  • Orchestral conducting

Studies end with a final degree project (Trabajo Fin de Grado) and include a wide range of elective subjects; the school also uses methods such as mindfulness, the Alexander Technique and postural education.

Admission is through the specific entrance exams for higher arts education (pruebas específicas de acceso); the procedure also includes a maturity test (prueba de madurez). Applications are best made online through the Secretaría Virtual of the Junta de Andalucía. The conservatory holds the Erasmus+ charter, which supports the mobility of its students and teachers, and has an Erasmus office and instructions for incoming students.

Admission

Admission follows the Andalusian rules for higher arts education (Orden de 9 de febrero de 2022):

  • Specific entrance exam (prueba específica de acceso, PEA), with an ordinary and an extraordinary call
  • Maturity test (prueba de madurez, PMA), where required
  • Registration fee paid with form modelo 169

Places are allocated in phases after the exams. Applications are best made online through the Secretaría Virtual of the Junta de Andalucía. New first-year students can reserve a place while waiting for a better allocation.
