Escuela de Arte y Superior de Diseño "José Val del Omar"

Higher education centre in Granada, Spain

The Escuela de Arte y Superior de Diseño "José Val del Omar" (EASD Val del Omar) is a school of art and design in Granada, at Calle Gracia 4. It combines higher arts education in design (Enseñanzas Artísticas Superiores de Diseño) with higher and intermediate vocational training cycles in the plastic arts and design.

The higher studies are four-year degrees that lead to the Título de Grado en Diseño in the chosen speciality, with a total of 240 ECTS credits. They aim to give future designers complete practical, theoretical and methodological training. Three specialities are offered:

  • Diseño Gráfico (graphic design)
  • Diseño de Producto (product design)
  • Diseño de Moda (fashion design)

To apply, candidates need the Bachillerato, the university entrance certificate for people over 25 or a Técnico Superior qualification. Most places (80%) are filled through a specific entrance test; 20% are reserved for direct entry by holders of a Técnico Superior de Artes Plásticas y Diseño, ranked by average mark. Andalusia's higher arts schools form a single admissions district. Pre-registration normally takes place in May, with a second round in September for places left unfilled.
