De Montfort University (DMU) is a university based in Leicester, in the United Kingdom, with its main campus in the city centre at The Gateway. Besides DMU Leicester, it has campuses and courses in London, Dubai, Kazakhstan and Cambodia. DMU teaches in blocks: students focus on one subject at a time, with regular assessments and feedback instead of many exams at once. According to the university, international students ranked DMU first in the world for overall average satisfaction in the 2024 International Student Barometer.

International applicants apply through the DMU application portal, a contracted agent or, for undergraduate courses, UCAS (institution code DEM/D26). The application checklist includes:
- Academic transcripts: high-school (A-level equivalent) results for undergraduate courses, plus a bachelor's degree for taught postgraduate courses
- A personal statement of about 500 words
- Proof of English language proficiency
- A reference from an academic or professional referee
- A copy of the passport, valid for the length of the course
- A portfolio for creative courses; an ATAS certificate for some engineering master's
Before a CAS can be issued, most international students must pass a credibility interview and pay a tuition deposit.

DMU guarantees accommodation for first-year students. Its halls of residence offer about 1,000 beds close to Leicester city centre, all a short walk from campus, with en-suite, non-en-suite rooms and apartments at different budgets. Bills are included (except laundry), staff are on site and on call 24/7, and halls have gyms, study and social spaces. Rooms can be booked for October 2026 and January/February 2027 starts.
