University of St Andrews

University, Graduate school in St Andrews, The United Kingdom

The University of St Andrews is Scotland's first university, founded in 1413, in the town of St Andrews in Fife. It is a charity registered in Scotland. The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2027 named it the UK's top university.

St Andrews offers undergraduate degrees, more than 100 taught master's degrees, online master's programmes, conversion courses for career changers, research degrees and short courses. A Graduate School supports postgraduate students across the academic schools, and part-time study is available during the day and in the evening.

Most first-year undergraduates apply through UCAS; overseas students can also apply through the Common Application or a direct application, each counting as one of the five UK choices allowed per year. The university has more than 4,000 bed spaces in halls of residence and university-managed houses and flats. Accommodation is guaranteed for new undergraduate entrants, a limited number of rooms are guaranteed for postgraduates, and flexible contracts are offered to students coming for a semester abroad. Scholarships and support packages are available at all levels of study.
