The University of Surrey is a campus university in Guildford, in the county of Surrey in south-east England. The campus is about 10 minutes' walk from Guildford town centre, 34 minutes from London and 45 minutes' drive from Heathrow and Gatwick airports. In September 2026 the university began its 60th anniversary year, marking 60 years since it was granted its Royal Charter. Its subject areas range from accounting and finance to veterinary medicine and science.

Students can take part in the Professional Training placement scheme and can study or work abroad during their degree. The university has 5,750 rooms in its own accommodation, from shared rooms to studio flats, and new undergraduate and postgraduate students are guaranteed a place if they meet the conditions and apply by the deadlines.

The University of Surrey has 5,750 rooms of its own in Guildford: en-suite, single-sex, studio flat, shared or single rooms, in several price bands. All rooms are furnished with a bed, desk and chair, reading lamp, bookshelf and storage. Undergraduate firm and insurance offer holders and new September-entry postgraduate students are guaranteed a place if they apply by the deadlines. Applications for the 2026-27 academic year are made through the university's accommodation portal.
