The Deutsche Schule Valencia (Colegio Alemán de Valencia) is a German school abroad in Valencia, at Jaume Roig 14-16. It is officially recognised by Germany, funded by the Federal Republic of Germany and regularly evaluated by the Central Agency for German Schools Abroad (ZfA); after a Bund-Länder Inspection (BLI) it holds the seal "Exzellente Deutsche Auslandsschule". Founded in 1909, it has around 1,000 pupils and combines the German and Spanish education systems. German and Spanish are the languages of instruction, and pupils also learn English, French and Valencian.
- Kindergarten for about 150 children aged three to six
- Primary school (years 1 to 4)
- Secondary school (years 5 to 12), leading to the Deutsches Internationales Abitur (DIA)
The Abitur gives access to universities in Germany and Spain; for Spanish universities, pupils can add points through the specific phase of the EBAU via UNED. Secondary pupils take an exchange trip to Germany in year 8 and a work placement in year 10. Applications go through the school platform Phidias, and entry is generally only possible at the start of the school year or semester. The school also runs afternoon German courses for children from other schools.
